SIGMA coordinates for 3D simulation

Dear Mohiders,
I've got it!!
Now I know that the layerthickness should be given as %, so we define the thickness of each layer as a portion of the local depth (values from 0 to 1).

SIGMA coordinates for 3D simulation

Dear Mohiders, I have a doubt about the definition (keywords) in the Geometry module of a SIGMA type water domain. I guess that the keyword TYPE is to be defined as SIGMA (obvious, isn't it?), but then, the keyword LAYERTHICKNESS is really needed or is enough with the definition of the number of lay...

Dear Ângela, Thankyou for your answer. I find it very useful. Nevertheless I must insist one more time. My simulation period is very short (is not well defined yet, but should be below 3 days). In such a time i can assume that tide is a simple wave of known constant amplitud (i.e: 3m) and period of ...

Hi Ângela, I would like to confirm my suspects: If I want to simulate a channel with a forcing tide in an open boundary and a river forcing the other open boundary, I have to close the river side boundary??? In other words, there is no way to simulate a tidal wave going into through a boundary and c...

A channel with two open boundaries but one forced by tide...

Hi mohiders, I´m having some troubles with the hydrodynamic model. I´m trying to simulate a channel which has an open boundary forced by tide. The other open boundary is forced by a river discharge. How should I define the tidal file and the hydrodynamic file in other to make this work? I can run th...

Thanks a lot.
The problem has been solved by diminishing the time step.

FATAL; INTERNAL; Modify_ChezyVelUV - Hydrodynamic - ERR04

Hello Mohiders

I'm trying to simulate hydroynamics at Port of Huelva (south of Spain) and we are getting this error message:

FATAL; INTERNAL; Modify_ChezyVelUV - Hydrodynamic - ERR04

I have no idea about the origin of the error. Can anybody help??

Regards

I'm trying to simulate 3D temperature field using mohidjet. I took the example file given in this post and removed everything related to fecal coliforms in which im not interested at all. The resultant data files are: LAGRANGIAN: OUTPUT_TIME : 0 1800. <BeginOrigin> ORIGIN_NAME : Origin 1 OLD : 0 GRO...

Mohidjet and Post-Processor

Dear all,

I'm trying to plot the result of my mohidjet simulations but the postprocessor just shut off when i click on \"Run OpenGL\". This only occurs when trying to simulate the output of the lagrangian module but the others run properly.

Thankyou!

Hi mohiders! How do you do? :) I have some doubts about this issue. In the example Lagrangian data file you posted the temperature appears as a Property of the descharge. Here are my questions: Does the Lagrangian module evaluates the evolution of the temperature field? Can I use this approach to st...

Sand module and sediment transport formulation

Dear Mohidmen,

Where can I find some technical information about the Sand module? I ussually work in the field of sediment transport and i would like to know more of the capabilities of Mohid in such an area!

Thank you! :D

I'll try to survive!! Don't worry. I've managed to solve the problem externally. The important thing is to point out those little bugs in order to mohid get even better than it is!!

Thanks for your work.

I don't have duplicated origin names. I've avoided the problem by using just one group_ID, and that way the program runs, but i guess there's something wrong...

Thank you
