Re: insufficient virtual memory

Dear Eshan, I have experienced the same problem than you with 64bits though I didn't tested it with 32bits. This happens, in my case, when I use the ifort compiler option "-heap-arrays 16" which tells the code to load all temporary allocated components bigger than 16 kilobytes in the heap ...

Could it be too much numerical diffusion?

Velocities under-estimation could be due to excessive numerical diffusion (I'm assuming you have an understanding that the currents near the mooring positions are representative of the average currents intensity in the wider area) or excessive bottom stress. Let's try a higher order numerical scheme...

Island coastal currents

Hello Ana, How were measured the reference velocities you have? adcp? Current meters? Buoys? The velocities you get in the 2D model are vertically averaged velocities, this means the intensity is different than the surface currents, or any specific depth currents. Furthermore, maybe wind forcing is ...

oxygen cycle

Hello, I have consulted current and former colleagues about the oxygen cycle in WQ in MOHID and I was provided a manual from 2006, composed by the main developer of the WQ module in MOHID. It is now available from the downloads in the members area in the Mohid site. http://maretec.mohid.com/PublicDa...

Light extinction coefficient

Hello, I didn't replied immediately because I had to check out with my colleagues and look out for the Parsons formula. So, after discussion with current and former group members, here's an answer: You're absolutely right, the Parsons formula has that coefficient wrong. It's 0.054 and not 0.54. Been...

OUTPUT_TIME

I don't know exactly what your problem is but I went to the MOHID source code in Codeplex ... and line 787 in ModuleWaves is all about finding a correct OUTPUT_TIME. Also, this recent topic in the forum seems to backup the above thesis http://www.mohid.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1237 and it points ou...

Hello, Here is the code. My guess is that the calling function passes an associated ComputePoint3D matrix (NoMapping is False). However, somehow, the variable Count always remains zero, possibly due to zero values in the OutValues3D matrix. There is only one calling function passing ComputePoint3D, ...

Debugging Mohid

Hi Matthias, You're in luck. I just posted a few hours ago my recent experience at debugging Mohid in windows where I used advanced tools like the Compaq Fortran Array visualizer together with the Compaq Fortran debugger. Here's the link to the post: http://www.mohid.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=601&am...

Advanced debugging session #1 : Fixing HydrodynamicAnalyzer

Hya'all, I want to share with you my recent experience at debugging in Mohid. I had this problem where the model would crash like this: :( http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1309/847158728_74f7b2a6ca.jpg?v=0 Then i went debugging the problem, and then I finally managed, and now the model works smoothly ...

Notepad ++

Hi Matthias (did I spell your name correctly?), this is great! However, it doesn't includes all the folder tags, nor all the keywords. Is the file also available in Source Safe (or Source Offsite) ? If not, then it probably should be, so others could pickup and extend what you started. Good idea, ni...
