Water level in reservoir

Dear all, It`s great to have the Mohid Forum working again. :D I had some instability in the water level in a small reservoir with only close boundaries. The same problem happened simulating the hydrodynamic of a river with Mohid and of reservoirs using other model. I had already solved this problem...

Thank you Guillaume for your quick answer. The OUTPUT_TIME keyword was wrongly defined. The correct format is OUTPUT_TIME: 0. 100. Sorry for the basic mistake. Take this opportunity to ask if there is a way to save the calculated fetch distances in HDF5 format in a specific direction to see the spac...

wave generation model

Hi Mohiders, I have a problem with the module waves. If I set OUTPUT_HDF:1 in the blocks of the module, the model gives an error and don`t even start to run. But If I set OUTPUT_HDF:0 in the blocks , the model runs without problems. The error is: forrtl: error <73>: floating divide by zero Routine L...

Oxygen Cycle

Dear all, There`s little written about the oxygen cycle represented in the Mohid water quality module and I have some conceptual doubts. I saw that this module is based on the CEQUALW2 model with some simplifications. The CEQUALW2 model considers the decay of dissolved oxygen caused by the decomposi...

Light extinction equation

Dear all, I have a question about the light extinction equation when modelling phytoplankton and suspended solids. I read in the documentation that was implemented an equation defined by Pina (2001), which joined the Portela (1996) and Parson et al. (1984) equations to give: K=0.04+0.0088*C+0.054C**...

I think the problem is that is not possible to use SPACE_INTEGRATION with the Harmonic vertical coordinate. When I used the Sigma coordinate everything works fine.

Fish Cages

Dear all, I need to simulate the influence of fish cages in the water quality of a reservoir. My question is if it is possible in the Mohid add a source of nutrients and BOD without flow and inside my domain (not in the boundary) using the eulerian transport model. If it’s possible, how can I do tha...

SPACE_INTEGRATION

Hi, I want to use the SPACE_INTEGRATION option in the HydrodynamicFile module, but the following error is occurring: HydrodynamicFileOptions - ModuleHydrodynamicFile - ERR11 The HydrodynamicFile module is: OUTPUT: 1 OUT_FIELD : C:\\Guilherme\\Mohid\\SaltoGrande-teste\\Simulation_2\\res\\Run2\\hidro....

Hi Frank, Thank you for your attention. I solved the problem with temperature choosing DATA_ASSIMILATION : 1 in the WaterProperties module and defining the Assimilation module: <beginproperty> NAME: temperature UNITS: °C DIMENSION: 3D <<begin_field>> DEFAULTVALUE: 22 TYPE_ZUV: z INITIALIZATION_METHO...

Using hydrodynamic results recorded

Hi, I need to run the Lagrangian and Water quality modules using the results of a baroclinic hydrodynamic model that I already ran in a reservoir. I ran this model with temperature in the water property module, and the both results of hydrodynamic and temperature seem good. After that, I managed to ...

Frank,

Thank you for your answer.

About the curvilinear grids, my experience is that`s not a good idea use curvilinear grids in dentritic reservoirs, only in reservoirs with simple geometry.

Happy new year.

Reservoir

Hi Mohiders, I need to simulate the 3-dimensional hydrodynamic and water quality (temperature, phosphorous cycle, nitrogen cycle, chlorophyll, BOD, DO…) of some freshwater reservoirs. I am working with curvilinear grid and I will use harmonic coordinates. My questions are: 1-It’s not possible to cre...
