Re: temperature input in River Network
Sorry for the question: A simple property in the drainage network and in the discharge did the job!

temperature input in River Network
Dear all,
Is it possible to provide the temperature of the water in a time series for the Drainage Network? I do not plan to do heat budget, but I would need it to drive my chemical model coupled to MOHID.
Thank you,
Cyril

Computation of the erosion rate
Dear mohiders, I'm reviewing the erosion model described in "An advanced modelling tool for simulating complex river systems" from Trancoso et al. 2009 and I have a question about the erosion equation of the Drainage Network module (subroutine ComputeErosionFluxes): !kg m-2 s-1 = kg m-2 s-...

Re: cohesive sediment with BOTTOM_CONC and CONTINUOUS keywor
Hi David, I still have to do some tests, but I still found a potential bug that you might be interested in: My problem was that the properties were not stated in the same order in my warmup simulation than in my continuous simulation. From what I understand of the *.fin file, it is filled sequential...

Re: cohesive sediment with BOTTOM_CONC and CONTINUOUS keywor
Hi David, I think I found the problem relating to my (old) bottom flux problem: In ModuleDrainageNetwork.F90, function "ReadInitialFile()", I can read the concentrations of all properties without problem. However, the code then loops over the properties to fill the BottomFlux vector of eac...

Re: Hydraulic obstacles on drainage network
David, I just tried to create an island in my model by adding reaches and nodes to the drainage network. Unfortunately, I get the following error: Node with more then one Downstream reaches [ID] 12 Which means that MRN does not yet accept downstream separation of rivers. Do you experience the same? ...

Advection and diffusion in river network
Dear all, I am setting a tracer experiment (rhodamin B) in river and I want to set the diffusion to proper value. So, my question is: How is computed the diffusion? More specifically, the wiki talks about molecular diffusivity and suggests a default value of 1e-8. I tried to reconstruct the diffusio...

Re: Hydraulic obstacles on drainage network
Hi David, Thank you for this complete answer. 1. I will have to manage the erosion problem in another way. 2. Actually, I do not wish to remove water from the river. I simply experience some numerical instability around weirs and under bridges. But still, I believe that specific handling of these co...

Hydraulic obstacles on drainage network
Hi, I'm working on a highly anthropized river and I have three questions: 1. There is a weir in the middle of my river. I can simulate it with a steep gradient in the river slope, but its presence also affects the erosion. As the weir is in concrete, no erosion should happen. Can I modify the erosio...

SWAT 2012
Dear mohiders, I have been using the coupling of SWAT and Mohid with some success. My original project was built on SWAT 2009 and could be coupled without problem (that I know of, at least) with the SWAT-Mohid 2005 executable. As the first model was quite flawed, I have to change to the new version ...

cohesive sediment with BOTTOM_CONC and CONTINUOUS keywords
Dear all, Working with the Mohid River Network, I have an unexpected behaviour when using the cohesive sediments with the CONTINUOUS keyword: Apparently, the bottom concentration of cohesive sediment at the end of my warmup period is not recorded in the *.fin file. This results in an initial bottom ...

Re: Units of SWAT outputs
Thank you Pedro,
It answer all of my questions. And concerning the flux, it means that I
cannot use the RCH files directly in my river network. I will have to
transform the units to concentrations, but that's not too much work.
Thanks again!

Re: Units of SWAT outputs
Sorry, I must already make a comment: The units are clearly indicated in the *.rch outputs. However, they are not indicated in the *.dis outputs. Furthermore, I generate outputs for an upstream subwatershed. I would then assume that the sediment concentration is the same in both ouputs (*.rch and *....

Units of SWAT outputs
Dear all, I'm using the SWAT-MOHID coupling to provide inputs to my river model. However, I cannot find the units used to define the different quantities that SWAT generates. Specifically, what are the units of the Sediment_concentration? And at a larger scope: How are the units defined within MOHID...

Defining Particulate Metal in function of suspended solids
Dear all, I work with a mohid river network fed with SWAT inputs (using the SWAT-MOHID coupling). I wish to input three properties in my river: Suspended solids (using "cohesive sediment" property), dissolved metals, particulate metals. My question is: Can I define the "particulate me...
