Nesting models - options -

Hello Mohiders, I really need your help! I have several questions about nesting models, regarding to two types of configuration: 1) Configuration of a Father-Son model, simulating both at the same time: - What is DATA_ASSIMLATION for? Is it useful?. Isn't enough activating BRFORCE keyword? Should I ...

Re: About the Mohid-Matlab tools

Hello Yang/mohiders, I am trying to make the Matlab files work. But first I will have to download them from the SourceSafe Database. I downloaded and install SourceOffSite, but tried with sos.mohid.com and 8890 and did not work. It tells me the following error: "Unable to connect to server"...

Change GridData Resolution

Hello all! I want to change my GridData resolution. I want to see how much my model results change with another mesh, and don't want to do it all over again from all the *.xyz files (beacuse I had lot of work doing some corrections manually as SRTM data was not much precise). Now I have a variable G...

Re: ERROR with ConvertToHDF-NCEP

Thanks David,
I enlarge the subset area and it worked!!

Tip: The *.exe does not work if I put the entire file *.nc (for all the globe)

Regards,
M.

Hello Juan,

Sorry for late reply. Have you succeded in solving your problem?
I do not know that kind of file you want to convert. But have you tried using the tool ConvertToHDF? You can find detailed information at http://wiki.mohid.com/wiki/index.php?ti ... vertToHDF5

Re: Tidal forcing

Hello Tainá, You are right that points should be defined inside and outside domain. I do not know how you defined the points, but when your domain has intertidal zones (intersection land-water), you should have special care in defining points as well at land: continue to select one or two land point...

Re: Beginner

Hello mrobelly, I presume that you are working with a 3D model, because you activated the option BAROCLINIC:1. I believe that the model calculates the density (that depends on Temperature and Salinity) and it goes unstable. I recommend you to start a simple model, choosing BAROCLINIC:0 (sometimes hi...

ERROR with ConvertToHDF-NCEP

Hello Mohiders, I am trying to couple atmosphere data with my 2D model (variable mesh of 400x200). I downloaded data files from NOAA´s web page: wind U, wind V, air temperature, relative humidity, etc., for 2007 and 4 measures per day. So, to input this data files into my model, I should convert the...

Re: HDF5Exporter - does it really works?

I already found the reason why it does not work with that property name.

The thing is that HDF5 files does not have properties as vectors. Indeed, it has velocity V and velocity U but not velocity direction.

Thanks and regards,

Re: HDF5Exporter - does it really works?

Hello all, I am trying to make the Exporter work, but I could not succeed with the keyword "velocity direction". Probably is a silly mistake, but I had not found a solution yet. Here I copied my "input.dat" script: <BeginHDF5File> NAME : C:\Users\mcastera\Desktop\ExporterHDF\Hydr...

Re: Water properties instability

Hello Leonardo, The cells size is variable: 200 meters and 400 meters. The smaller size is applied to the half top stretch of the river, because it is much narrower there. The discharge is imputed in only one cell, at the upstream boundary, uniformly in all depth. The aim of the project is to study ...

Turbulence models in rivers

Hello Mohiders, I am working with a 3D model of a river of around 300km long, and its width varies from 800 meters to 6 km. I am considering the Turbulence_equation in vertical direction and Smagorinsky in horizontal. Both of them have coefficients and keywords to define. Do you have any idea of whi...

Re: Water properties instability

Hello Leonardo, The total period of the warming simulation is of 5 days. Shouldn´t it be enough for stabilization? A positive wave of high flows takes about 4.5 days in running all the river long (about 300km), from upstream to downstream. The Discharge module is as follows: !MODULE: Discharges <beg...
