Re: Problems!! (Digital terrain)

Hi Raquel,

How big is your grid and how many xyz points do you have in your data?
Sometimes, with big files and big grids can take some time to run the digital terrain creator program...
If you send me the files I can have a look on what's going wrong.

Best regards,
Luis

Re: Question about water quality \"urgent please\"

Hi,

Have you first ran the model with hydrodynamics only? It's important that you calibrate the model hydrodynamics first before running the water quality processes.
You can try to set the phytoplankton and zooplankton initial concentrations to zero.

Re: TimeSerieLocation in Hydrodynamic file

Hi,

The error relates with the option CONTINUOUS : 1

This means the model is expecting to continue from a previously run simulation and is looking for the restart file (Hydrodynamic_X.fin, where X is the ID of the previous run).

Hope this helps,
Luis

Re: Water Quality elements

Hi, You can assume "total suspended solids TSS" as cohesive sediments. However "total dissolved solid TDS" is not recognized by MOHID... if you assume that this are very fine solids that have near to zero settling velocity, then maybe you may try to simulate it as a generic prope...

Hi,

What do you mean by element signal? Can you be more specific?

Re: Lagrangian module VARVELHX and VARVELH keywords

Hi Ana, The velocity of a standard lagrangian particle (if no extra forcing is defined) is given by: ParticleVelocity = HydrodynamicVelocity + TurbulenceVelocity The HydrodynamicVelocity is given by the hydrodynamic model. The TurbulenceVelocity is computed as relative to the standard deviation of t...

Re: Wich version shoul I use?

Hi Ana,

I believe you'll need MOHID Water to do this, but depending on what you consider a river you may also need MOHID Land.

Re: Discharges file

Hi, If the model crashes then it may (depending on the compilation options) start to produce NaN ("not a number"), which will look as if the model is taking a lot of time to run, when in fact it's just computing NaN... Check your hdf5 results regularly throughout the simulation and if you ...

Re: Time Instant

Hi Sergio,

What type of simulation are you running? Is it a Lagrangian simulation? An increasing number of lagrangian particles can cause the model to run slower as the simulation progresses...

Can you be a bit more specific?

Cheers,
Luis

Re: UTM and FES

Hi Ana, When using UTM coordinates, you must define in each gauge, keywords METRIC_X and METRIC_Y with the UTM coordinates of the gauge. You have to convert the geographical coordinates that you've used to get the FES2004 data and convert it to UTM, and then manually introduce the UTM coordinates (u...

Hi Julia,

Please remove the

from the file.

Use only the geographical coordinates values and it will work just fine.

Re: Option Estuary ModuleTurbulence

Hi Lilian, This option computes the horizontal viscosities based on the velocity modulus integrated in the water column (VELMOD), water column height (HT), a reference velocity (keyword VREF_VIS) and a reference depth (keyword HREF_VIS). A direct copy of the code: VELMOD = VELMOD / HT(I,J) VISHAUX =...

Hi Katiusca,

Looks like you're nesting a curvilinear grid submodel onto a regular grid model. Is this the case?

Best regards,
Luis
