Re: Roots depth

Sorry to ask, but have you changed the keyword also, or only the value of the keyword?
Because if you do not changed the keyword (it do not have the "c" before the T), it will still use always value 1, do not matter what you set the keyword...

Re: Roots depth

Hello Ane, In fact, there are a problem with a keyword. You are using "CONDUCTIVITYFACES", but in the code it is "CONDUTIVITYFACE". Because it is different in your input data file, the model do not find it and always use the value 1 (by default, average). Try to use the correct o...

Re: Roots depth

Hi,

Could you post here your porous media file?
Also, the rain is the same than was in the last working simulation?

Re: Roots depth

The change in keyword is ok. The other one was "too big". ;) Regarding the problem of iterations. Which DT_DURING_RAIN are you using (in basin input file)? Maybe lowering to something like 10 seconds can help. If not, which value for CONDUTIVITYFACE (in porous media input file) are you usi...

Re: Roots depth

Hello Ane. We found the "problem". It is a conceptual issue. The plant database max root depth is updated, at the initialization of the model, to the lower depth where that ID exists. This is why you get this behavior. David will update the code and as soon this is done, I'll send to you a...

Re: Roots depth

In fact, if the soil is deeper than the max root depth achieved, and also the maximum root depth (in the plant database) is higher, than the problem is other.
I'll ask David about this.

Re: Roots depth

Ok. Seems everything is right. So, the most probable reason to the root depth get to 0.6 m only, instead of the maximum value on plant database, is that the soil depth, on those cells that you checked, is 0.6 m. To be sure, you have to do a little math. When you setup your model with Mohid Studio, u...

Re: Roots depth

Hello Ane :)

Could you put here the module vegetation input file and the plant database you're using?

Thanks.

Re: reading an HDF

Just a correction from my previous answer.

If you want to update the property, you HAVE to use FILE_IN_TIME with a value other than NONE.
It isn't enough to delete the INITIALIZATION_METHOD.

Re: reading an HDF

Ane, I think I found the problem. In the practices block (in the vegetation input file), you are using INITIALIZATION_METHOD : HDF. You have to erase this keyword or use FILE_IN_TIME : HDF instead. If the FILE_IN_TIME keyword is missing, it will get the default value of NONE. When this happens, the ...

Re: reading an HDF

Hello Ane, I don't think we have an output with the practice ID in the output timeseries or HDF's, but I'll check. If not, I'll implement it ASAP. Anyway, could you post here your vegetation input data file and also your database (the one with the practices) so I can try to figure out what is happen...

Re: reading an HDF

Ok.

I tested the file you sent and, in fact, the Mohid Studio is unable to show HDF values in different time instants through the QUERY tool.

I'll feedback this to Frank.
