in my study area there is a island, so is there a proper procedures to work with a island in the domain?

Dear Marcio,
I would need more data in order to help you on that task but in general terms it depends of what kind of island are you talking, a coastal or oceanic island?
In the first case, you won´t find much problems in term of modelling, you can considered as land and it would be enough.
In the latter, because normally they present a steep bathymetry my recommendation would be to use cartesian coordinates instead of sigma ones.
This rule normally can be applied to areas with steep gradients of bathymetry.
