waterpoints or openpoints

Postby m.rudlof@gmx.de » Thu Nov 25, 2010 13:47

Hi at all,
to display a vertical temperature profile I mapped always the water points. Recently I took the openpoints and I noticed a difference in the profile. Not much and mainly in the thermocline. Why? What`s exactly the difference between open points and water points and which type is the right for vertical profiles of water properties?
Thanks
Michael

waterpoints or openpoints

Dear Micheal,

waterpoints are all points which can potencially contain water and openpoints points which in a given instant have water. So the only difference between waterpoints and openpoints appear in intertidal areas (or dry areas at the border of a reservoir).

Hope this helps,
Frank
In order to understand recursivity you must first understand recursivity.
