Lagrangian module VARVELHX and VARVELH keywords

Hi all
I'm working with Lagrangian Module, and I need to know how can I obtain some 'correct' values for VARVELHX and VARVELH. I'm working on a small (10 km long) coastal area.

I don't understand the definition of these keywords, and therefore I can't calculate them . I neither have access to Allen (1982) paper on which the procedure for calculating random movement is based.

Can anybody explain me how to calculate these values, please? (in a understable way for a beginner, if possible)

Hi Ana,

The velocity of a standard lagrangian particle (if no extra forcing is defined) is given by:

ParticleVelocity = HydrodynamicVelocity + TurbulenceVelocity

The HydrodynamicVelocity is given by the hydrodynamic model. The TurbulenceVelocity is computed as relative to the standard deviation of the HydrodynamicVelocity and is given (based on Allen 1982) by:

TurbulenceVelocity = HydrodynamicVelocity *VARVELHX + VARVELH
