the format for orthogonal curvilinear grid

Postby jie_yang@hhu.edu.cn » Thu Mar 07, 2013 01:23

I want to use orthogonal curvilinear grid in my case, but it seems that there are no related examples in user guide. When I look into the code, the related attributes seem to be <CornersXY><\CornersXY> and <CartCornersXY><\CartCornersXY>, yet not so sure.
Would somebody tell me the difference with the bathymetry file in detail, or simply give me a example in the bathymetry file? Thanks a lot.

Dear Jie Yang,

This are 2 different ways of defining your grid:

If you specify your grid using a
<CornersXY><\CornersXY>
block, the model automatically assumes your grid will be curvilinear.

If you specify your grid using a
<CartCornersXY><\CartCornersXY>
block, the model assumes your grid will be regular.

Both formats are defined by 2 values per line (X, Y), and each line corresponds to the coordinates of the edge of a grid cell, starting from low left corner, left to right, bottom to top.

Cheers,
Luis
