Impose a variable value at the boundary

Postby fmartins@ualg.pt » Tue Apr 09, 2013 17:37

Hi Mohiders,

Is it possible to impose a variable exterior value at the water properties boundary (e.g. using a time series)?

in alternative is it possible to change the exterior value from one run to the other when e do a continuation run (it seems that in this case the model keeps the original initialization value even if I change the boundary value in the continuation run).

thanks
Flávio

The methodology that I normally follow is to considered the follow in the Waterproperties_x.dat file

<beginproperty>
NAME : nitrate
DATA_ASSIMILATION : 1
!Null gradient
BOUNDARY_CONDITION : 4
...
<endproperty>

In Assimilation_x.dat

<beginproperty>
NAME : nitrate
UNITS : mgN/l
DIMENSION : 3D
OUTPUT_HDF : 1

<<begin_field>>
DEFAULTVALUE : 0.1
FILE_IN_TIME : timeserie
FILENAME : ..\..\GeneralData\OpenBound\Nitrate.dat
TYPE_ZUV : z
<<end_field>>

<<begin_coef>>
DEFAULTVALUE : 1e9
TYPE_ZUV : z
FILE_IN_TIME : NONE
REMAIN_CONSTANT : 1
INITIALIZATION_METHOD : SPONGE
SPONGE_OUT : 1e5
<<end_coef>>
<endproperty>
The peace be with you
