Residence Time for Hypersalinity using Lagrangian method

Postby gerry.salamena@my.jcu.edu.au » Mon Jan 26, 2015 12:53

Hi All,
I have finished in simulating a hypersalinity during dry season in my area of interest due to evaporation exceeding precipitation. Now, I am going to calculate residence time of this hypersaline waters by using lagrangian module. The characteristic of the particles that I would use should be like drifters that move under hydrodynamics force and also without evolution in volume and mass (not like oil spill or biological particle) because my goal is to see how long the particles can be transported in cross-shore direction out a particular bay as these particles prevail as the saline waters. If there are some examples of lagrangian module facilitating my particle characteristic, would you, guys, like to help me?

Thanks for your attention
Best
Gerry

Hi Mohiders,
I was trying lagrangian module for my project above. And I found that when I use the lagrangian sample below from mohid example found on Mohid website in BatiTidalFlast, the model work. However, when I applied in my own area, there is no increase of file in Lagrangian.HDF5 indicating no data. So, does anyone know the problem is?

Thanks
Best
Gerry
