Hello Cesar,

I will suppose you are talking about the tidal plugin in MOHID Studio.

In the MOHID Water guide ... ide_v1.pdf
in page 25 is explained the tool and:

"The reference level [of the tool] is the mean sea level (measured from the origin of the bathymetry
upwards) obtained from tidal gauges in the area (in Tagus the mean sea level is 2.08m
above bathymetric zero). The FES tide solution is in Greenwich Meridian Time (GMT)
so need to adapt to your area using time reference (e.g. Spain is 1 (+1) and will be
negative trough the west)."

So the reference level you use is the mean sea level of your area.
And the procedure to input tide in the model is explained in the same guide.

Hope that is what you are searching.

Hi, Cesar

This is a real problem. If you are working at Spain, at the coast, you can find those data at the harmonic constituents at the tidal recorders owned by Puertos del Estado (REDMAR). The problem is if you are working abroad or in the middle of nowhere. In such a these cases, whay I use to do is reconstructing the tidal wave (with the old tool of Mohid-Tide, the TidePreview) for 3 or 4 years, and I take the "hydrographic zero", I mean, the lowest value of elevation.

I hope this helps.

Jose Maria
