Neashore Simulator Plugin question

Postby andrewtnt » Mon Jul 24, 2017 09:20

Dear all,
I am a new user of Mohid Studio 2016 and I want to study the sediment transport of a nearshore area.So I would like to use the Nearshore Simulator Plugin to couple Mohid Water and Swan model. However I am having trouble to set up the model (mainly the swan simulation, I can't locate the digital terrain while my bathymetry seems to be in the correct directory) so I would like to know if there are some tutorials available regarding the plugin and if not I would go more in depth about my simulation parameters.

Kind regards,
Andreas

Dear Andreas,

Nearshore Simulator is a MOHID Water simulation with SWAN Module.

As always as a zero step make sure you have done the:
MOHID Water Quick Start Guide:
http://www.actionmodulers.pt/Biblioteca/Uploads/Downloads/Walkthroughs/MOHID_Studio_-_MOHID_Water_Quick_Start_Guide_v3.pdf

SWAN Quick Start Guide:
http://www.actionmodulers.pt/Biblioteca/Uploads/Downloads/Walkthroughs/MOHID_Studio_-_SWAN_Quick_Start_Guide_v3.pdf

You just need to be sure to have ModuleWaves_X.dat and ModuleSediment_X.dat as in a normal MOHID Water morphodynamics simulation with ModuleModel_x.dat
WAVES : 1
SEDIMENT : 1

SIM_INTERVAL : 600.
The latter keyrword is not read by MOHID model but by MOHID Studio to know the interval in seconds that should break te sub simulations.
Then internally the model will exchange info between the MOHID Water and SWAN.

Check this out as example of Nearshore Simulator example project.

Hope it helps.

Best regards,
David

Thank you so much for your help David,I will be sure to add those in the afforementioned files.
However,I can't seem to access the zip archive you sent me with the example. It seems the link no longer exists.Unless this a browser issue from my part.

Kind regards,
Andreas
