### Problems with nested models

Hello...

I'm trying to run a simple nested model in a small tank, but my results (of the son model) always give NaN.

My Hydrodynamic input data file of father's model

SUBMODEL : 0
WIND : 1
ATM_PRESSURE : 0
WAVE_STRESS : 0
WATER_DISCHARGES : 0
CONTINUOUS : 0
UP_CENTER : 1.0
IMPLICIT_VERTDIFFUSION : 1.0
DISCRETIZATION : 2
UPSTREAM : Upwind
TIME_SERIE : 1
EVOLUTION : Solve_Equations
CORIOLIS : 1
VOLUMEVARIATION : 1
HORIZONTALDIFFUSION : 1
VERTICALDIFFUSION : 1
VELTANGENTIALBOUNDARY : 1
VELNORMALBOUNDARY : 1
HMIN_CHEZY : 0.3
VMIN_CHEZY : 0.3
LOCAL_DENSITY : 1
BIHARMONIC_COEF : 1e9
SLIPPING_CONDITION : 1
DT_OUTPUT_TIME : 10800.
OUTPUT_TIME : 0 10800.
RESTART_FILE_OVERWRITE : 0
RESTART_FILE_OUTPUT_TIME : 0 10800
LOCAL_SOLUTION : 1
MISSING_NULL : 0
TIDE : 1
TIDEPOTENTIAL : 0
BRFORCE : 1

And my Hydrodynamic input data file of son's model:

SUBMODEL : 1
WIND : 0
ATM_PRESSURE : 0
WAVE_STRESS : 0
WATER_DISCHARGES : 0
CONTINUOUS : 0
UP_CENTER : 1.0
IMPLICIT_VERTDIFFUSION : 1.0
DISCRETIZATION : 2
UPSTREAM : Upwind
TIME_SERIE : 1
EVOLUTION : Solve_Equations
CORIOLIS : 1
VOLUMEVARIATION : 1
HORIZONTALDIFFUSION : 1
VERTICALDIFFUSION : 1
VELTANGENTIALBOUNDARY : 1
VELNORMALBOUNDARY : 1
HMIN_CHEZY : 0.3
VMIN_CHEZY : 0.3
LOCAL_DENSITY : 1
BIHARMONIC_COEF : 1e9
SLIPPING_CONDITION : 1
DT_OUTPUT_TIME : 10800.
OUTPUT_TIME : 0 10800.
RESTART_FILE_OVERWRITE : 0
RESTART_FILE_OUTPUT_TIME : 0 10800
LOCAL_SOLUTION : 2
MISSING_NULL : 1
TIDE : 0
TIDEPOTENTIAL : 0
DATA_ASSIMILATION : 0

Am I forgetting an special option? Do you know why this is happening?

Thank you

Marilia

Hi Marilia,

I would need to see the bathymetry/grid files of both domains (father and son) and the input data files also. You can send them to my e-mail.

Abraço,
Luis
