Hi,
I will like to know which model you recommend for modeling the water quality in a river. The idea is to model process as BOD, OD, Nitrogen and E-Coli.
I am looking for a model similar to the QUAL2K model. I am familiar with Mohid Water however, I don’t know if I can use this one for what I´m want.
Looking forward for the response
Kind regards,
Cinthya

Dear Cinthya,
the water quality module of MOHID Land (or MOHID River) is the same as in MOHID Water. You can simulate first order decay of fecal coliform, the nitrogen cycle, the phosphors cycle, dissolved oxygen.
Happy MOHIDing,
Frank

Frank,
Do you recommend to use Mohid Land or Mohid Water, for model the water quality in a river system.
Kind regards,
Cinthya

Re: Modelling Water Quality in a River
Sorry the late response...
it depends on the river...
If you have a very long river, best is to use MOHID Land. If you only have a small part of a large river (e.g. close to the sea), it will be best to use MOHID Water...
If 3D processes are importante you should use MOHID Water...
If Groundwater interaction is importante you should use MOHID Land...
Nice work,
Frank

Re: Modelling Water Quality in a River
Hi
I use mohid-water and i would like (as Cinthy a few years ago
) simulate the water quality in a river and its estuary. Especially the concentration and mortality of E. coli.
Using an old version of 2012 with Mohid GUI, E. coli can be simulated as an eulerian variable (in WaterProperties), but apparently E. coli is considered "only" as a lagrangian variable in the latest version of Mohid. Thus, so I cannot "migrate" my configuration with E. coli to the lastest version of mohid-water
Does someone know more about this ?
Thanks a lot
Marina
